Genki Rockets 3D LIVE Japan

Sunday invitation for the concert I accepted without thinking twice.
The description of the band I was supposed to see and circumstances surrounding the concert were very interesting; the concert was to be the 'the first live 3D concert in the world' and was organised by Sony.
It was all part of the Sony's Make.Believe campaign which trough a rich program over a few days introduced 3D technology to people in Roppongi Hills.
The band we went so see was called Genki Rockets and their style was very unique. Not your usual band consisting of the few musicians but of a group of students who were in charge of creating 3D visual art!
We were amongst the first to arrive and we grabbed the best spots-in the middle of the first raw from where the visual effects are best seen. The concert started when a DJ in cosmonaut suit came out on a stage and started mixing music from a DJ boot placed just in front of us. Behind him was a very big LED screen and in its center was another screen displaying 3D visual effects. The synchronisation of those two screens was impressive and possibilities endless. The music was very nice in the beginning with elements of ambiental, electro and dance music but later on took on a different sound with a more cheesier lyrics sang by the 'virtual' front girl of the band (but then again it needed to have a broader appeal to the public).
Nonetheless, the concert went on for a 30min and we thoroughly enjoyed it.The idea behind this project was to create the experience from out of this world and they have succeeded in doing this.
We were all taken on a very nice ride to future and back and we all got a sneak peak at things to come(and the future is going to be very interesting to say the least).
